What is SBT GRVL?

SBT GRVL is a world-class gravel race experience held on the greatest gravel roads on Earth in and around the magnificent Steamboat Springs, CO. The unique combination of the quiet roads surrounding a thriving resort town create a setting for an incredible gravel bike race. With the fundamental goal of inclusiveness, we want to focus not only on the race, but a fantastic weekend away with family and friends. The beauty of the mountains (not to mention the camaraderie with fellow cyclists) as well as the basic challenge of covering these gravel roads on two wheels is something that will not soon be forgotten.

I'm not in but have long been intrigued by Steamboat for skiing. I wonder if there is good camping in the area ...

SBT GRVL is the race/ride with 1500 people coming to ride the roads with support.
Here is a website that shows several of the local rides around the area. Two long time locals put this together and JR has a company called Veloscapes that can support a group if needed. For those less inclined to race with 1000 of your friends this might be an option - can you tell I might be one of those sorts...

The routes for the race are awesome, not deadly steep with most of the roads in very good shape so pretty fast. Here is a photo from one of my rides last year on one of the roads with a troupe of 7 of us all on Moots.
