I recently moved back to the SF Peninsula. I’m thinking about trying out cyclocross, so I used the google machine to look for races in the area. I found a handful of races, almost all in the Sacramento area.

Is cross just not a thing in the Bay Area? Did google miss some results?

You missed the race Sadoff and crew have down in Santa Cruz already.

Also missed the Central Coast Cyclocross series (http://www.cccxcycling.com/2019-CROSS-PAGE.html).

There was one race in Livermore this year.

There used to be cyclocross at Candlestick, but haven't seen them take place for a few years.

Turnout among the races I've seen has not been great, so it's not surprising they wouldn't generate the revenue to book a more centrally located venue.

CCCX (Central coast cx) has a whole series. Their also used to be a handful of races in/near the city (golden gate park, coyote point). Check out ncnca.org for info. CX can be found here: https://ncnca.org/?post_type=tribe_events&eventDisplay=month&tribe_eventcategory=4.

BASPS closed down when Tom retired a few years ago. Those races were really fun, especially when Golden Gate Park was still in the mix. This was the series that was hosted at Candlestick, Coyote Point, Sierra Point and GGP. One year evelyn stevens decided to line up and 'race" with her sister. since it was open, my young daughter was lined up next to her. Evie was in her full Spec/Lulu kit and I told my daughter what ever you do please do not crash into that woman otherwise you will become famous for unwanted reasons.

Coyote (team roaring mouse cross infestation) was a few weekends ago, and there is a back-back Dec 7-8 coming up (https://www.bikereg.com/coyotevalleycross)

Otherwise as noted pay attention to CCCX and Surf City.

GGP was a great course and so much fun. Too bad it died. I raced that season shortly before I met you @pdmtong. Those were the days.
