Strike-through text in postings?

I thought I've seen posts here with strike-through text before.

Did some googling and supposedly this should work:

but it does not for me. Maybe only in newer versions of vBulletin?
Anyone know how to do this?

When I post something wrong and realize it later, I change the color to a light gray. I have seen others do this too
