Can't quite tell which model this is....looks to be a csi but has top tube cable guides. And the dent?

Rear drop out, fork and seat lugs look a lot like a Colorado I had which was a '89 or '90. An expert will tell you. Love the fade paint. I could not personally live with the dent. Unless it was REALLY cheap.

That dent is a real shame. This is otherwise beautiful.

That dent will not slow it down or effect the magic ride of that bike.

Ask for the serial number then you'll know for sure.

That bike is sweet. Dents do not usually bother me, but the location and condition of the frame make this one really visible. At that price, if it fit, I would still be very tempted and am sure I would either get over the dent or repair it.

bit of a shame via the dent...but I bet it's not a deal breaker...still be a great ride...worrying about small dents ought to be it's own category in the DSM...

Gorgeous bike, love the color scheme.
Too good looking IMHO to not have it fixed.

Simple job for a good "scratch and dent" guy to fill in and paint. Or use a tool to "pull dent out". I've seen what those guys can do on the used car lots. Some filler, spray a few colors into a rattle can lid to get the color right, let dry and buff out.....it will disappear. And...they do this on the cars in the lots while wandering around the lots looking for work. A bike would be a piece of cake.

Didn’t the Davis Phinney model have a “Davis Phinney” decal on the top tube near the head tube? That dent would bother the hell out of me.

I'd be worried about the frame alignment as well. Pushed by a car with enough force to put that dent in it, hard to think everything else would be straight. But it's steel and can be worked on.

Could be a late Phinney. The earlier ones (circa '88) had a different seat cluster. 1990 and 1991 should have SD code in serial number.

Is it a Nova or maybe an older club special with a fade repaint? No Colorado concept tubing and the rear dropout design looks the same? That dent on that skinny of a top tube would drop the value quite a bit for me, but I would still ride it!

That dent is fixable, impossible to roll it out completely ok? but roll it out just enough so some acrylic putty can be put on top. Sand to flush and then sticker on top.

Sure for 500 somebody will take it. For 700 doubt it.

How are you going to roll that out with the cable guide right on top of it?

No you cant and you are right. What happens is that the top edge and bottom edge of the dent made the tube go off a few mm up the straight line and those are the ones you have to take care off...maybe tiny hammer or even just straight electric sander, once that is done fill up with acrylic putty if you dont know anybody that does brazing and fill up that.

Serrota made an SLX tubed model for years. This could very well be one of those.

the fastback seatstays and rear dropouts look very much like my Nova Special X, however, my NSX doesn't have the "S" on top of the front fork...I think the Finney model was based on the NSX??? ..or this may be a later NSX, guessing by the fade paint and decals, and the inclusion of the "S" on top of the fork. Its my favorite bike by far.
