I have a 13" Macbook Pro. Our IT guy pointed me towards this Dell (https://www.newegg.com/dell-p2719h-27-full-hd/p/0JC-0004-007H7?Item=0JC-0004-007H7).

I'll use it for the usual: email, web browsing, Excel, Powerpoint. And I'd like it to be what we can watch Netflix on (no TV here).

Any thoughts? Is the FHD adequate (it's what I have at work) or should I look at QHD? Not a gamer or doing any 3D design work.

Thanks

I can't believe a serious IT department is buying such low-end monitors. I'm seeing monitors with decent vertical resolution for not much more.

Check slickdeals if you’re price conscious

Assuming your 13" pro is recent, the resolution is 2560 x 1600. Standard 2k resolution is 2560 x 1440 which is pretty close. That's what I would recommend as it'll match the native laptop resolution and avoid odd window resizing when moving apps between displays.

my search on newegg (https://www.newegg.com/p/pl?N=100161617%20600556721%204016%204809%204814%20 600012694%20600012686&Order=PRICE) with those limitations.

The ViewSonic VP2768 Pro might be a good pick if it's within your budget. https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/viewsonic-vp2768-professional-monitor,5336.html

I trust these guys. They even have an article for Macbook pro monitors.

I asked a friend for his advice and he passed on his Apple Cinema HD 30" display. It's an oldie but goodie as far as I can tell!

I use an HP Z27 and love it (++ on the Wirecutter rec, that's where I originally found this monitor, I'd check and see what they're recommending today)

I haven't bought dell for a while but I would say if you do go with them, go for their Ultrasharp line of monitors if you can.

Samsung and LG make the best screens, both for themselves or for others so yo could see what they have.
