The idea of a "Black Friday" has always been an invention of the retail industry. So there's nothing stopping retailers from putting "Black Friday" on any day they want.

Last year the 65" Samsung QLED that I bought at Costco BEFORE BF was actually cheaper and a better all-in deal than the actual BF price/deal.

Historically, BF deals are NOT the best deals you can find. You get the doorbusters, if you want a TV made for that store missing some feature but on most stuff big savings are better found other times of the year. The thing that make BF such a draw is EVERYBODY has something on sale. They almost have to to get anyone into their shops or sites.
Except REI, of course.

Slickdeals is actually the only sales website I'll use, they have a strong community and the comments sniff out a lot of the sketch quickly. Unfortunately not really any cycling deals, it's good for electronics and home supplies.

it IS a very exciting purchase in that your heart races when you see the final bill(if you go to an actual tire shop)... you see $99/tire but wind up spending $600 at the end of the day.

They offer a lot of options that are lesser brands and I tend to think of tires as very important, so keep my search to the products that I know. For recommendation(s), TireRack is probably better, but SimpleTire offers a great value if you know what you want/they have something of interest.

I've had plenty of luck with Mavis tire honoring every single online price match out there. The only real caveats is that they'll need to be in stock, and they factor in the installation costs of other online places like TireRack and DiscountTireDirect. But if you get the tires from them they include lifetime rotation and changeover (if you run winters, which you should).

But for lower tire price DiscountTireDirect is the way to go.

I've got Mavis down the street from me and they've no-hassle / no gimmick matched a Walmart sale price, which was all-in about half of what the Mavis published price was. I didn't expect them to but figured I'd give it a shot.

I dislike having to play the price match game in the first place, but Mavis really wants your business.

They only have two products, which probably makes it hard to discount and still make any money. But both (travel and handlebar bag) appear extremely nice and well thought out. Often products like this are somewhat of a bargain even at their seemingly elevated prices.

I paid $1350 Euro which seemed like a killer price. I had a couple calls with Alessandro Battaglin who was really helpful determining fit. I also ordered a painted stem and post, cost for painting is 45 Euro a piece.

Hmmm I just picked up that kickr, what was the warning?.

The newer KICKR models had two problems, the first being the key and keyway on the lower pulley. Wahoo sent out a repair kit for home mechanics or shops to use. Failing that, users could send them back. The second issue was an ungrounded power supply that would allow a static charge to damage the circuit card resulting in no speed display. In that situation, Wahoo would send a new unit and power supply and the owner would ship the broken one back to Wahoo. I had both happen to me and the replacement sent after the electronics failure had the pulley issue which I corrected with their kit.

All the above means that Wahoo had quite a few returned units that could be refurbished. Each of the above problems had an identified cause which could be corrected or repaired with replacement parts. I'd buy one.

I went through three Kickr’s before finally saying no mas. The first I did the repair myself but it didn’t solve the problem. Then two more replacements with the same noise problem. I was so annoyed that I asked for a refund and they gave it to me. I bought a Tacx Neo instead. Their customer service was great. I don’t know if I was receiving new or refurbished units but couldn’t comprehend how they could repeatedly send faulty units to customers. The TrainerRoad forum had lots of other users going through the same thing. But I would hope by now, they’ve identified all the bad ones and have refurbished and tested to ensure they work properly. All of the units I had worked perfectly out of the box but developed ever worsening noise issues after several weeks of use.
