with silver arms. Did they ever make one before going to carbon arms? I would like to find one.

Campy made an alloy centaur compact crankset. I have a NIB 170 mm if you are interested, with a chorus compact derailleur.

Record and Chorus compact cranks have only been made in carbon.

The centaur square taper crank in compact is alloy, and needs a 111mm
bottom bracket (which is not the same as the Record pista bb that is
also 111mm but is symetrical, and not compatible with the centaur crank
if that's what you were hoping..)

The new ultra torque bb crank in compact is alloy.

I have a NIB alloy Centaur compact 170 crank if you are interested. When I ordered my Campy chorus compact group for my new IT I ordered the alloy crank for my touring bike, but I never installed it.

Thanks Grant for the pics. The second is the non ultra torque version I guess? Would that be the 2006 version?

I recently installed last year's centaur alloy compact crankset on a cross frame--it's the first time I've dipped below record or chorus in ages, but it's darn nice stuff (I've got the brifters and the changers too, and they all work great and are very nicely finished to boot).

The current alloy centaur seems every bit as sweet as earlier alloy chorus and record to me. Viva the Campy alloy mix!
