I got a bike that i will be running flat bars on that is made for flat mount calipers.

Cant find any mtb brakes for flat mounts (yes i know there are adapters).

But can i use a dura ace flat mount hydro caliper and pair it to an xtr brake lever without issues in performance or feel?

Thanks
B

Shimano has a compatibility chart online to check these too

...but yeah... XT and XTR will work with the road levers (and vice versa) as long as they use the BH90 hose.

Cheers!

So after looking a bit on the dura ace caliper. The front seem to come with "adapter" for either 140 or 160mm rotors.

The rear however does not such have such adapter included. This leads me to believe that the rear caliper may not be compatible with 160mm rotor?

Anyone ride a da caliper with 160mm rear rotor on a flat mount frame?

I have an R8000 Ultegra flat mount 160mm rear. It required a thicker spacer plate/adapter, which I purchased separately. It’s pretty close to touching the seat stay.

I have another bike where the frame didn’t allow for anything larger than 140mm.

Hmm thanks that is potentially a let down.

Maybe i should go with xtr brakes calipers and use 160mm pm to flatmount adapters instead. Its just not visually great in comparison tho..

Perhaps 140mm for rear is enough? It just bugs me a little.
