Mainly interested in what type of tread (slick, semi-slick etc.) people have settled on for their all-road/mixed-surface style bike? Of course the tire brand/model would help too. I am looking in the 35mm-38mm range and trying to decide on something like a GK Slick or Teravail Rampart or go with a little more tread (Schwalbe All-Around) or a combo like the GK SK, Teravail Cannonball, Elwood/MSO type. Figure about 70% would be asphalt and the remaining packed dirt to light gravel/stone. Nothing super chunky.

really depends on the nature of the "mixed" surfaces. Our gravel around here would eat up some slicks. I use 38mm GK SK on my gravel bike, and I'm pretty happy with them on pavement. Just did 100km paved road ride on Saturday on them, and they were fine.

2nd the GK slick in 700x38. Good value tire that works well tubeless. Once mine began to wear it was a quick decline in durability, but up to that point they were flawless. Mileage was good enough to make me not worry about it.

My ride is similar but the 30% is more chunky gravel and have had zero issues.

Nothing Super Chunky. I'd lean to slicks or file tread. Depends how Spirited you ride on the dirt. I've ridden 80/20 road/dirt rides here (smoother dirt with some ruts and few rocky sections). Slicks worked ok, but file tread is better. Currently running Challenge Gravel Grinders (but I would have been ok with Almanzo's as well). If the dirt was more like some of those CO Front Range roads, I'd have gone with Strada Bianca.

I like Pasela 700x37 for this mix.

I really do love mine, and they come in a variety of sizes now, all the way up to 38c.
Although I haven't experimented with other tires, I haven't had an issue with these and they'Re pretty comfy at lower pressures so they've got my vote.

I'd been using GK slick 38s, though I just swapped them out for Rock N Road tires, and they're surprisingly fast on pavement.

I like the 35mm Clement (or Donnelly) X-Plor USH. Center strip is a tight chevron pattern that rolls really smoothly, but edges are a short diamond tread.

Nothing wrong with a slick/file tread in back and something with some side knobs in front

I ride slicks for all my mixed terrain rides. They lose a little on descents but gain enough back on pavement to still come out ahead. I like the GK slick, it's a nice durable tire that still rolls well.

I've got 2 sets of tires for my mixed riding depending on what I'm doing:

32c GP4Seasons for mostly road with easy gravel tossed in
35c Schwalbe G-Ones for mostly gravel with some road tossed in.

The G-Ones roll surprisingly well for what they are

Also had some 40c Gravel Kings on another bike that did well too, but they're too big for the new frames

Similar to the above I have 2 sets:

32c Hutchinson Sector for road heavy routes
35c Schwalbe G-One Allround for gravel heavy routes
