Question for those of you with K-Wing bars (the real men of the group!) and bar tape.

I have to replace my tape to add more padding to the drops and wondered because of the flattened top of the bar, where do you guys stop the bar tape... as usual close to the stem (taping over the flattened top of the bar) or just after the brake levers (leaving the flat top of the bar exposed)?

I'm curious because my LBS builder left the top of the bar exposed and only taped to the brake levers (or just beyond).

I stop at the flat part. It looks much cooler.

Some bar tape shots from when I used to run a K-Wing. The top sure gets slippery when you get sweaty.

Thanks for the screen shots Eric! Looks like most allow the top of the bars to show.

Eric, sounds like you switched bars... what happened and what did you switch to?

Hey Mike, think I read at some point that you had tried the EC90 Equipe Pro. How did you like it vs the K-wing and do I need a specifically dedicated stem (not the FSA K-wing Stem) to install?

Many thanks, and remember, I'll fill you in regarding my TT Roller after Christmas.

Merry Christmas,

I've only used an Easton EA50, Ritchey WCS, K-Wing and my current Energy-T. The only stem I ever used with my K-Wing was the OS-115. Two friends of mine have used the K-Force carbon fiber stem without problems. I don't really trust carbon fiber stems and handlebars so I'd probably stick with a matched combo just to be safe.
