Anyone know of a place that is offering a oil slick anodization to King Ti cages? I thought about hydro dipping but I don’t know how well the would hold up over time.

Maybe Toronto Cycles (http://www.torontocycles.com/Titanium_Anodizing.html) will do it?

Pretty sure Black Magic in Portland, OR is playing with ti-anodizing these days too..

I don't know about "oil slick", but these guys do anodizing: https://www.agavefinishworks.com/services.

Fwiw, the only oil slick cages I know of are the supacaz cages: https://www.merlincycles.com/supacaz-fly-cage-ano-bottle-cage-120825.html

That doesn't answer your question, however.

That is what gave me the idea. I saw them in a local shop today but I already have the ti cages. I know from motorcycling that ti can be heat treated to produce a rainbow effect. Maybe I will hit it with a blowtorch this weekend and see how it goes.

You can also contact Tyler at Firefly, to ask if they still do the work (and then perhaps sell your Kings and buy from FF, as the economics might work out better).
Anodized King cages? or similar... (https://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?p=1786111#post1786111)

The stainless cages don't anodize.
$60 per titanium cage and $20 for anodization.... so $80 per cage.
If you supply your own titanium cage then it is $50 to anodize each.

I watched a bunch of youtube on it tonight. Looks like you can get yourself a kit for fairly cheap. Idle hands and all that.

Note to self. Do not look at this thread anymore as I just put on Silca ti cages and need to avoid temptation!

I’d say this is the way to go. Did not know they did this, thanks for the tip!

I'm a fan of the Supacaz products, particularly the oil slick and prizmatik pieces. :)
