I've been looking for a set of wireless headphones, mostly for using at the gym. The Samsung Galaxy has a "transparent" or "ambient noise" feature that sounds like it could be useful for riding (I cringe when I see riders wearing big over-the-ear headphones--which thankfully I don't see often...), but I'm also curious...could you take a call on the bike or is the wind noise too much?

Any headphone recommendations? I'm on Android so AirPods are out.

My shortlist is just 2: Galaxy Buds and Jabra Elite Active 65T.

Budget: $100 (or, preferably, less)

My mom had bought me a pair of these and I'm enjoying them so far (while riding, too)

yeah because of wind noise, I wouldn't take a call while riding. but I've definitely taken calls and yelled "hang on! lemme pull over!" and then continued the call after I did.

I was in the same boat as you and settled on the Jabra Elite 65T headphones.
I fell down a rabbit hole of multiple youtube heaphone reviews and they all rated the Jabra at the top of all of their list, and I 100% agree!

These headphones are amazing. They fit super snug in your ear canals and the app you download on your phone, makes adjusting the sound pretty easy. They come with a little black case that you charge them inside and the black case can recharge them multiple times without being plugged in (Super slick).

I also love the Ambient sound feature, where I can use them to hear further. I sit in an open cubicle setting at my job, and if I use that feature I can hear people on the other side of my building. It's pretty insane.

Love the Jabra Elite 65t headphones! I tried Beats, Bose and a plethora of brands.

I'm using the Jaybird (Logitech) Vista. I like that either earbud can act as a 'master' so I can use just the right side ear bud in when I'm riding. If I ever go to the UK maybe I'll finally use the left side. 3 ear bud sizes, sweat proof, stays put while active. A bit pricey though.

These are fully wireless? I have the X3's. Nice, but corded to each other.

for riding, a good pair of wired buds seems like the way to go...no?

I also recently got a pair of the Jabras and overall am quite happy with them. They fit tight so are not as comfortable as Airpods but because of that would be much better if used while riding -- I won't ride with anything in my ears so can't comment on that experience.

I have one complaint: I use them with both my phone and computer, and every time I switch between devices I have to go through the pairing process. Lame. But otherwise they're good, especially battery life (though granted they are new, ask me about that in a year).

Airpods work on Android FYI. Works great with mine.

If you read the article, they work great for runners. If you use Siri at all for anything (calls, texting, changing songs), these won't work once you start riding.

I've used Bowers & Wilkins C5 for years, and they've discontinued them. After trying the Jaybirds, I immediately went back to wired and have a set of Master & Dynamic ME05s that work splendidly. Full texting recognition, use of Siri- all those things that the Jaybirds didn't have.

Jabra elite active 65t are awesome, had them almost a year now and just got a pair for my wife. You can control ambient noise via the hear through feature

I’ve had the Beats Powerbeats3 Wireless since Christmas 2018 and they’ve been great. Long battery life, amazing sound, good for gym and walking/running.

I am a huge audiophile and normally don’t go for big name brands in my home setups but for bt earbuds I would recommend big name brands due to the bt technology for better connectivity. So I’d recommend the AirPods (even for Android platforms) if you want to also hear the ambient noise surroundings which is safer for riding but if you want something with some noise cancelling then go for the Bose Soundsport Free. The Bose is designed for working out and you can grab a set for $150 on eBay which is directly through official Bose.
