Two words for ya:
Jeannie Longo. Amazing woman. Still a french champion, and just signed a one year contract, at the age of 48. She rocks!

She is Lance, plus a decade and some years, with a string of wins that will make his Blackberry throb with this response.

You don't quit cycling because you get old, you get old because you quit cycling....

I'm 48. And thats not old.

My "OldDog" moniker comes from my dog. I never signed up on the old forum, just lurked really. When the new forum took flight, I signed up. I needed a name. I looked at my Springer, who I was about to put to rest due to age and illness, and came up with OldDog. Sort of a tribute to my pal. Her name was Babe and I thought of using that name. But, with all the skinhounds on the board, you'd all be sniffing my saddle :)

At least "I" don't think 48 is old.

48 is 'old' when it comes to racing pro, winning France's National title, and planning on racing in the next Olympics!!!
Otherwise, no, 48 is not old.
Cheers. :)
