Greetings fellow paceliners,
I have a set of Chris King R45 hubs that are currently run with regular skewers as 100/135. I’d like to convert them to 100/142 with 12mm thru axles.

I’ve looked at the Chris King website and believe it’s possible, just wondering if anyone has done anything like this.
Is there anything I should be worried/concerned with?

I’m hoping to take the wheelset from a redundant road bike and run them as my road wheels on a gravel build

Thanks in advance
Simon

In the past I have called King and they have been very helpful with these type questions. They will even complete the order on the phone. I’d suggest giving them a call to minimize making mistake that cost time and money.

The first link you posted is for the classic ISO hub if I'm not mistaken. Converting existing hubs is crazy expensive. AVT or King can help you.

+1 to give Chris King a call or drop them a note. If I recall correctly, they also may have gone through some minor version changes so giving them the serial numbers will also help.

Potentially also important to know if you're trying to convert regular rim brake R45's, 6-bolt R45 or Centerlock R45's.

I think everything is possible here in the world of Chris King, but the devil may be in the details...
