Hi all,

I'm looking for a wheelset for a monstercross build - Something that'll work tubeless with 43c gravelkings and 11s SRAM drivetrain. Who's upgraded to disk and has something nice that was lightly used, and is collecting dust? I'm hoping to not spend a fortune ;)

Maybe Hed Belgium Plus? Velocity Quill? Something else?

Thanks!

I don’t have a tubeless wheelset but location, axle type and spacing would certainly help.

If you go non TC I have a WI mi5 and son dynamo to velocity dyad

I’m in the Bay Area

I will definitely keep that in mind! Thanks so much for the offer

Good call! I'm located in Santa Barbara, CA. This is for a Black Mountain Cycles Monstercross Build, so quick releases all around, 100mm front, 130mm rear.

That's a sweet wheelset you have there! Years ago I built nearly the same thing (I used a 7700 rear hub) for a rando bike that has seen thousands of miles and a couple of tours. Rain. Mud. Snow. You name it! I've ridden through it all on that bike. Fairly set on going tubeless for this build, but will certainly keep that in mind as I love those rims. Thanks for taking the time to comment!

PS inbox is now cleared - apologies if that prevented anyone from PM'in me :o

PSS I should have previously clarified - This bike will also be used for bikepacking, so, while I am a light rider, I don't want to go too sparse on the spoke count :bike:

I'm up in Santa Ynez and have a set of basic Bontragers that might work for you.

If you're willing to go with an R8000 11-34 cogset (11 speeds that fit on a 10-speed cassette), I've got a touring wheelset that could be great for you.

Alternately, you might get in touch with this guy:

...who has had those wheels for sale for a long time; you could well make him an offer.

If you're headed down into LA, you can pick up this front wheel: https://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/bop/d/los-angeles-velocity-a23-front-wheel/6961393718.html and then figure out a rear.

I have an extra set of Mavic allroad elite that are brand new still in box if you are interested. They are cheap and come with valves, sealant, quick releases and tires.
