Installing a Shimano quick- link on a Campagnolo chain

This is the first time I’m using a quick-link to connect a Record 11 speed chain and the instructions tied to one end of the chain read “never remove or modify this link in any way whatsoever”.

Now to install a Shimano quick-link, one needs to remove that set of outer plates that the warning says not to modify in order to install a the quick-link.

Is this safe to do?

Those instructions on the Record chain pertain to pressing the campagnolo pin into those specially identified links, which you don't plan on doing.

Not a shimano quick link per say but probably very similar, I have installed kmc quick links on campy for a while and its just like installing quick links on kmc chain. Remove how many links you want, install.
