Broke another 2.3 and 2.2 spacer. It's an annual event now.
Yes, I always torque to spec.

What's your source for these crappy spacers? Wonder if someone in China makes aluminum ones. I'd actually buy from Ali Express if they had them.

I have both 2.2 and 2.3mm..$25 mailed for both..USPS priority..

Ops, I see Canada, eh? Priority would be $40...First Class...$30..unless you have a US address..

knock on wood, i've never broken one and i've got lots of miles on 11-sp kit.

I've broken 1 or 2 of the 2.3.....never the 2.2..

I buy my replacements from Amazon. $15 to $20 or so. It is frustrating.

Maybe my Park torque wrench is off?
Seems 1 is broken whenever I remove the cassette to clean which is about once a year. Both were broken after my 6 day bike trip.

Not an uncommon complaint to be found on the web.

Thanks for the offer OP. Shops up here north of the border do carry them. I was wondering if anyone found a more disposable price point somewhere.

Yeah the 2.3 seems to be more delicate. Don't know why they didn't just make it round. I'm guessing the "clipping" geometry adds to the stress.

I'm good, thanks OP. I replaced them already from my reserve stash.
Just annoying.

I think campagnolo makes a kit that contains those ones in question.

Potenza has a cassette that is not expensive, the spacers from that one will work??

As for aluminum spacers you have to look maybe to edco or miche cassettes and since you are in the canada wonder if somebody there can cut you a set made of metal???

The two 12-32 centaur 11 cassettes I have use aluminum spacers.

I think I have around 100,000 miles of 11sp Campy cassette use and no spacers have broken to the point of being unusable... I would offer to send some from old cassettes but Canada has always been a bit of a hassle to send to.

Does a broken spacer affect your shifting? if not why not just leave it in.

Hmm.. those spacers can be fixed in only one axis... so.. what about use fiber glass cloth around the spacer?? sounds crazy but could work. You give the thing like 3 or 4 extra layers, that should spread the load better because the spacer will have more diameter. At the inside diameter, what you can do is to cut like a V shape in the crack and add some epoxy to it.

Just crazy ideas, easier to say than get it done tho.

This is very timely as I found my C50 shifting poorly and, upon inspection, saw that a few of the cassette gears were 'wobbling' when I spun the cranks.

Took it in to the shop yesterday. The tech showed me the broken spacer. Too bad he had to order them in but not a problem. You would think they should have a good stock if they fail on a somewhat regular basis.

I was in veloclasique last year when one of the friends from the shop started talking about the spacers, then the comment about campagnolo selling that specific spacer in pairs :D.... I said... "I suspect they know exactly where the problem is :D"

Anybody with stock aluminum bars and a lathe?

I had a couple of 2.2 spacers break in 2 spots so I guess it's possible they could potentially vibrate out of the cassette at some point.
Interesting that the Centaur has Al spacers.
Perhaps the spec'ed torque is just too high and even if you are under but close it's still too much?

Urbane has some Wheels Mfg spacers which are 1.5 and 0.7 so I may experiment with that but they are out of stock of the 0.7 right now.

Appreciate the offers for spacers but I already had some spares in my stash.

I have one broken one, luckily I have the two pieces, going to try some super glue on it and see how it holds up.

This is the least expensive I have seen the paired set of 2.2 spacers sell for: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Campagnolo-11-Speed-2-2mm-Bicycle-Cog-Spacers-HB-RE023/312652579388?epid=7012045942&hash=item48cb8bc23c:g:6o4AAOSwvA5c~9hN

And the 2.3 spacers here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Campagnolo-11-Speed-2-3mm-Bicycle-Cog-Spacers-2-CS-712/312652579887?epid=2255379048&hash=item48cb8bc42f:g:HdQAAOSwr9Nc~9hq

Wonder if that's for one or 2 of the 2.3..the part number is 2-CS-712, even tho just one spacer.
