Can I swap derailleur cages? Mid Cage Di2 (R8050 GS) Short Cage Mechanical (9100 SS)

As the title states.

I have two derailleurs:
1. Dura Ace 9100, short cage
2. Ultegra Di2 R8050, Di2, medium cage.

Wondering if anyone's ever tried such a thing by just swapping the cages?

I put a Duraace R9100 cage on an Ultegra R8000. Both short cages and only because it was a cheap hand me down upgrade from someone going to the Ceramic Speed oversize pulleys. Perfect fit.
But I gather you’re wanting to put the mid cage Ultegra on the Duraace derailleur, presumably for a 11-34 cassette.
Seems it would work.
