Lots of bike cam talk here, but do any of you have experience with car cams?

Been a rash of smash and grabs in our neighborhood lately and ring does a great job of catching glimpses of them in driveways, but someone last night got hit and had an owl am in their car.

Pretty impressive pictures. I’m surprised at the number of people that leave their cars unlocked and valuables inside.

Kinda pricey but it is impressive. Would love one of these for my son and daughters cars.

I leave nothing valuable in the car but unlocked...so you don’t get a broken door/window....

I used to leave my car unlocked until the neighborhood kids tried to steal the radio back when I lived in a crummy neighborhood. I'm also afraid people will throw trash in there. Just don't leave anything visible.

I hope the locals don't take this up. Most of the low rent individuals are priced out of our housing market, and if they do come into town, it's to drink, bother the college women, and get arrested downtown.

I put a cams on the house this year...and recorded a bunch of "friends" of my son egging a car that I own in the driveway, then coming back to laugh and point. Made for some interesting conversations with other parents as we recognized each individual involved. Apparently, I'm ruining some Ivy League education...or something. Whatevers, just glad this stuff didn't exist when I was young

i use the leave the doors unlocked and nothing valuable inside method to avoid broken windows as well. unfortunately, sometimes they arent even trying to get inside.

Cameras are most definitely helpful in certain situations, but for car break-ins, the police don't seem to care. Cities like San Francisco have decriminalized car break-ins. Also, the police still have to ID the perp, which takes a lot of time and effort and may not be possible.
