I need some help. I have a Paul Taylor steel frame that I bought here on the forum and built up. It had a derailleur hanger on the frame at the time and I thought nothing of it. Well...I broke the hanger, and the local shop can't ID the kind of hanger used (I had no idea there were so many options for der hangers!).
Can anyone lead me towards a name, part number, company, anything that could move me forward? I'm attaching a pic -- the only one I have right now -- of the rear triangle with the backside of the hanger shown (the two small allen screws in the dropout).
Anyone?????

you sir, need the full color wheels mfg wall poster to stare at!

Seriously though, check out the wheels mfg site and see if you can eyeball a match.

Looks like a Paragon hooded dropout, maybe start here (https://www.paragonmachineworks.com/replaceable-parts/hangers-10-mm-skewer/1-1-8.html) and try to match some dimensions. The folks at Paragon are also helpful when called.

man it would be nice if they etched a part# or other identification into the back of these things for this eventuality. that would sure simplify things down the road.

Thanks all! I've got some detective work to do, but at least I have a direction.

As donevwil wrote above, that is very possibly a Paragon Machine Works replaceable dropout, as they supply many custom builders.

Accurately measure the length from a) center of the axle to the center of the derailleur bolt; b) the overall length; and c) the center-center distance between the mounting screw holes.

Then compare those dimensions to the Paragon dimensions listed here:
1-1/8" Dropout, 10 mm (https://www.paragonmachineworks.com/replaceable-parts/hangers-10-mm-skewer.html?cat=419)
1-1/2" Dropout, 10 mm (https://www.paragonmachineworks.com/replaceable-parts/hangers-10-mm-skewer.html?cat=420) < Unlikely.

A lot of those you can just eliminate visually by type.

Or, just call Paragon with the dimensions info. Have a better overall photo on hand to email. They will certainly help.

When you get the new one, don't assume it's straight, put a quality tool on it.
