Have a cross bike (yes those totally unusable short v brakes ) and want to move everything over to a similar platform but low (80mm) bb (55.5 TT) Would such a thing exist new (or preferrably used)? Wife would throw me out if I bought another custom. I am happy with 35mm tires, don't need the massive balloons that are out there now.

thx

Rivendell or Rivendell inspired touring bikes (Atlantis comes to mind) I believe have lower BB. Check out Black Mountain Cycles as well. Differences abound in cross bikes as well. I sold my otherwise awesome Ridley because it was so hard to get my leg up and over. I got an older, slightly smaller Alan.

I love my low BB allroad bike, 80mm is where it’s at! Mine is custom though :)

Rivendell Rambouillet and Romulus might be what you seek. They both came with mid-reach brakes and accommodate 700x37 tires. A few Romulus frames were built for canti brakes. I think the BB drop is 80.

It's not 80mm, but the LeMond Poprad had a 75mm bottom bracket drop.

I can't think of a big production run bike that had 80mm of drop.

All-City Space Horse is also 75mm.

Black Mountain Cycles road has a 75 BB for a 56 frame - no 55.5 TT, but with the extended HT length and geometry it has a fairly short reach for a 56 - 582mm.
