That is terrible news. They probable felt pretty safe riding in a pack like that early in the morning. When cycling, I sometimes wonder if the car coming up on me is driven by someone under the influence of something. That always worries me. I hope that everybody recovers quickly.

I'm not sure if any of our other Melbourne forum members can elaborate, but I heard reports last night that the driver hit the pack deliberately. What a *loody idiot.

I think that's how rumors get started.

No need to be confused, it was a legitimate question.

A similar thing happened on the same road earlier this year. A friend of mine ended up in the ER with (luckily nothing worse than) a grapefruit sized haematoma on his butt from a car's rear view mirror. 6 other cyclists were taken down by the same driver. The driver was caught after he crashed into a parked car a few k's down the road...wacked out on ice. Farking tweakers...

It's either malice or negligence...both deserve jail time.

BBB, if I hear anything I'll PM you.

I agree, both deserve jail time, but there is a difference, one deserves much much more.

It was mad on the roads on Saturday. Too much Christmas time traffic.
