I use Speedplay Frogs on my bikes and one pedal was sort of grinding instead of turning smoothly. God forbid Speedplay would make things easy for do it yourselfers.

First the need to special order parts through my lbs. Then waiting two weeks for them to arrive. Then selling my first born child to raise enough money to make the purchase: grease gun, two pedal bodies, 2 needle bearings, two sealed bearings, etc at around $100.

Then never having taken them apart and figuring out if the needles are pressed on or what? Gave em a tap with a hammer and a screw driver and off it came.

But I said my mantra, figgered it out and they went back together nicely. An elegant design in some ways, but it required patience.

In the end all is smooth, greased and rebuilt. Another aspect of cycling to enjoy. I bet most people who use these pedals don't have the gun and the pedals never get serviced. Mine were dry as a bone.
