Got the Chorus 12 group today. Everything comes in white boxes, with all of the expected info from Campy. Most parts are made in Italy, except the 11-34 cassette and FD that come from Romania and the brakes come from Taiwan.

Every part looks great. The largest 3 cogs are attached to each other differently than any Campy cassette I've every owned. The cogs are all a dull silver that looks like hard chrome, but who knows what it is. Does not look like zinc plating.

The new ergo levers are better than expected. The shiny black coating looks sharp. You'd never expect that the levers are aluminum. The thumb button is shaped differently than the 2018 levers that I have and so is the top of the brake hood. Reach looks to be the same.

With any luck, a picture of the 48-32 crankset out in the bright sun is attached.

Sorry, that crankset is not pretty.

You know, I used to think that about 4-arm cranksets in general, but they've grown on me. That particular crankset may not be the prettiest, but I think I could get used to it - probably not on my steel bike, though.

I like it!

Can’t wait to grab one of these in this gear ratio!

I mean. Looks amazing. And also the crank looks very juicy. Love everything about it.
Waiting on chorus eps 12sp.

I like that, the levers are aluminum? interesting, performance wise?

I have the new Chorus 12 up and running on my bike. The price point is great, and the groupset works really well. The rear derailleur is particularly sharp and shifts well. From what I can tell, it has larger teeth, sits back a bit farther and holds a bit more tension. Jeff and Craig from Summer Cycles in SD installed it. Nice set up.

Glad I'm still on D/A 10 speed.

Gonna have to che this thing out because clearly 11 did not last too long, im still using 10. I have a potenza 11 moving around and noticed that my habits are always the same... i use 2 or 3 cogs at most, probably even a 5 speed would be ok.

Actually, the new 12 speed, particularly the rear derailleur, is an upgrade. I like the range provided by the 11-32, and you don't need to change the chain length to accommodate the different cassettes. Single cage length too I think.

Campagnolo introduced 11 speed Chorus in 2008. That was 11 years ago.

Nice to see that the Paceline retrogrouch train is chugging right along!

If you don't see that the newer groupsets simply work better than the old stuff, you aren't looking.

Sexy, love the crankset. I just pulled the trigger on a new Chorus group. Should see it by the weekend.

Looks like they modified the crank fixing bolt setup to now thread in from the nds, allowing a solid surface across the drive side’s face. I like it.

I'll bet it works great. Looks don't matter IMNSHO.

I love my 11 speed campy, would not trade it for 10 speed. I really like this. Great ratios and I actually like the way the crank looks. Alum levers are good with me too.

I like it. At some point I will likely pick one of these up to try out.

Sorry, that crankset is not pretty.

Definitely not "pretty", not pretty at all.
It's downright brutally gorgeous.

OK, good for you I suppose.
Your different opinion doesn't make me feel any particular way, emotionally.
I just think it's actually a pretty beautiful design, that's all.

Love my Chorus 11.

Would love Chorus 12 if they actually gave us another cog where it counts - like somewhere in the middle of the cassette.

Where are you ordering your Chorus 12 from? Haven't seen it in the online retailers yet... Or maybe I've missed it.

The only reason I'd move to 12 is for a bigger last gear. I'd like to get to a 32, and my 11 really tops out at 29. I am happy with the middle ratios.

I bought my Record 12 from Pink Jersey. Great place, excellent communication and they are really fast.

If Chorus 12 is anything like Record 12, you will love it!!! Big congrats! Keep us informed on your build. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]

I have Campy 10 on my steel bike, two carbon bikes on Campy 11 and 12 spd on my custom ti bike. I guess I am just a Campy fan ever since I tried 10 spd back in 2001. Each generation is different but all are beautiful, precise and perform excellently.

I switched out the derailleur cage on my Record 11 speed RD to a medium cage and run a 11x32 cassette. You can get a 32 with 11 speed, but the price of the longer derailleur cage is a bit excessive..

I'm not a campy guy and I think it looks pretty good. Not overstated and a nice clean look. One of these days I'm gonna give campy a try and maybe this will be the group.

Yup, in spite of the (1) comment, really nice looking, VERY functional, better than this IMHO..Giganto piece of aluminum with proprietary chainrings..and 34t smallest ring..

And PM sent to Dino..

I got my bike ready for its maiden voyage with chorus 12. Chain length was a bit confusing. Campy says to use a 55 inch chain, with my chainstay length, which is 1 inch longer than I normally use, but there is 3T more wrap than a 50/34 with a 12-32, that would require .75 inch more chain. I tried my sram 12 chain that's 54 inch, but the 29 and 34T rubbed the upper pulley cage in the big ring . With a Campy chain, the joining pin gives you one chance to get it right, so I used the 55 inch length.

The big/big works better than my previous 50/32, that you shouldn't use. The chain is a bit loose in the little ring and smallest 3 cogs.

I only changed the right ergo lever, to save time. The 11 speed lever works the 12 speed FD just fine. I'll get the other lever changed soon.

The RD has an extension like a wolf tooth road link.

The new Campy cables worked great. I was having some cable friction problems that caused some hesitation on shifts to smaller sprockets, but that's gone.

The 12s instructions give only two chain lengths depending on your CS length.

Very nice. I think 48/32 should be a great ratio for Front Range riding. I've been on 48/33 for the past year and for me it's just about ideal. I find the 15T difference in rings a little annoying, but that's life since triples are gone.

Campagnolo introduced 11 speed Chorus in 2008. That was 11 years ago.

Amazing, i was just looking at 2 sets of 11spds i have that i don't like, thumb shifters not as robust as the 10 spd and thinking this is still a new format. a new 11year old format.

The first ride with the 48/32 and 11-34 went great, going up my steepest and longest climb. I can tell that I'll be spending more time in the big ring on modest slopes. I like it well enough to change out my other bike and go all-in with 12 speed.

The brakes are a slight downgrade from chorus 11. The are no aluminum fasteners with torx heads. It's back to nickel plated steel and 5mm socket heads. I'll keep my 2018 chorus brakes on my best bike.

Did the 12spd cassette require a different wheelset or were you able to use your old 11spd wheels?

12 speed cassettes work with campy hubs 9 through 11 speed.

12 speed cassettes work with campy hubs 9 through 11 speed.

As well as Campy-compatible freehub bodies from most other manufacturers, Chris King R45 being a notable exception.

The new 12 speed levers have the small hands feature added. If you want the shorter reach to the lever, push the lever release button all the way in.

I've been modifying my ergo lever bodies by adding a little epoxy putty where the pin rests, for about 13 years. Glad Campy figured out how to add this feature. Unfortunately, the 2018 11 speed shifters didn't have this feature.

Pink Jersey now lists the chorus 12 group as unavailable. Most euro sources also list it as 3-4 weeks out.

I am thinking about doing this but w/ Record level brakes. Albeit I think I do like the DA 9100 brakes a little better than Record 11 brakes...
