Basketball doesn't require much equipment, and it is very noticeable when they change the one thing that makes it basketball. What is the equivalent in pro cycling? That is, if the pros (or regular cyclists) rallied to rid the peleton of something (other than drugs), is there a piece of equipment that has been foisted upon them that they would refuse to ride any longer, sponsor schmonser? Granted, it is a difficult analogy, because all of the players on the court share the same ball- cycling is not a shared-equipment activity.
