So, after many years I'm moving and it isn't going to be possible for me to take my full stable of bikes with me. The wife and I have both selected one bicycle each to keep and the others will be sold.

Any ideas on the best way to establish values for these guys? Your input is appreciated!

The ones that go are:
1. Moots VaMoots CR 52cm - Full Dura-Ace Group & Wheels

2. Kona King Zing (Dedacciai) 52cm - Full Dura-Ace Group & Wheels

Rob pal, you got a nice stable.

Curious what y'all decided to keep.

A pair of custom Davidson frames won out!

I've also got an old Santana tandem I need to part with that is all original from back in '79!

You have nice bikes in there, like your style.

Im NOT into titanium but IMO and based on how market is going lately i dare to say that you have between 1400 and 1800 bikes in there... any number in that range, and the bikes will be moved to a another home quick which is what you want for sure.

Personally i like that vamoots 52 but can't pay for it, the kona is nice but is too big for me, NOT! :D.

Good luck with the sale.

Yeah, I'm thinking the Moots should be a bit more than that, but the others are probably in that range. It's so hard to really land on numbers b/c eBay and CList are such dice rolls and the blue book sites for bikes are a joke...

Thanks, these have been great bikes! The Kona is the best climbing bike I've ever had and the Moots feels like a jet!

you already know my next question...can we see pictures of the Davidsons and the Santana.

all the bikes in question are in such nice shape and well-equipped, I hope you get top dollars for them.

I'll get some photos (will likely take me a week or so) of the others and throw those up on here as well.

When I actually list them I'm thinking I'll probably go something like:

Moots $3500 +/-

Serotta $2000 +/-

Kona $1800 +/-

Litespeed $1500 +/-

The old Santana is cool, but it's probably worth $400 or so. It's not as pristine as the other bikes, but it's all original and definitely not beat...

I'll chime in because I've sold some similar bikes within the current market.

The Moots is the most valuable of all the bikes. I would start it at $3,000 and expect to get around $2500 on a good day. It is a great bike and build, but if you want to maximize profit then a part out might net you the $3,000. I sold my Vamoots with Athena 11spd last year for around $2,000 complete.

The Concours is a great bike, but for some reason do not really hold much value on the used market. I sold my Chorus 9spd Concours a couple of years back for $1,000, but it was a quick sale and I would value it at around $1,500. I believe that yours is a $1500 bike as well. Part out would net you a little more.

Litespeed bikes do not really hold much value in todays market and can be had complete for under $1,000 for most models from that era.

The Kona is a bit unique and I am not very aware of what it could bring.

You can always search eBay sold listings to get an idea of what they are selling for on the current market, but if there is a best offer they dont disclose the actual price it sold for.
