i would feel very odd bidding on that bike with the number of pounds it should take to be high bidder. though the seller appears to have a lot of feedback, there are a few alarm bells for me. 1) inability to read e-mail address. this is a big one. if he really was legit, he would use the address on file or change it to an account he likes. 2) for such a high end bike, only one poor photo makes me worry. 3) no mention of ss# or like identifiers. 4) the author was very thorough about listing the parts, but the cassette is not listed as a bicycle nut would. most people into bikes would list it as da 9 speed 11-21.

if you really want the bike, maybe write the seller and ask a lot of questions to verify the auction, but there are a few warning flags.

EDIT : adding to what i wrote : i happened to have the window open and looked over the auction again. more flags : 1) userid of bidder is private 2) location, it appears this bicycle is in more than one place. 3) no comments about shipping.

Seems like an auction to pass over.

I'd be afraid.

scam, that whole contact-redirect thing is the reddest of flags.

Nice bling category too.

Yup. It's got all the classic red flags that other posters have mentioned, plus the bike is listed in the very incorrect category " Jewellery & Watches > Fine Jewellery > Charms/ Charm Bracelets > Letters/ Numbers". the seller has no background in bicycles according to what feedback I can read and he's got 352 mostly unrelated items on a one day auction. All the classic earmarks of an EBay ne'r-do well.

Yeh, I think you're all right on this one. I give it 1 out of 10 scamster points - a very poor effort indeed.
