Its the holiday season and I have a couple of friends I need to get some bike related gifts for. I thought it would be a good thread to come up with gifts that don't break the bank but still are sorta cool.

My LBS carries a line of stuff like card holders, key chains, bottle openers etc--all made from recycles bike parts. I think most of the stuff is under $60.00. I was there the other day and I think I saw a clock made from an old chain ring!! Albertos Cycles in Highland Park, IL

How about a 1 year subscription to Bicycle Quarterly (formerly VBQ)?

I just spent hours pouring over the last issue. There is more good information in a single issue of BQ then there is in 10 years of Bicycling Magazine.

I bought one of these and love it. It is great for weighing just about anything. I figured that it would pay for itself by the savings I'd realize from returning not-so-empty propane tanks from my grill.

I thought it was silly until I borrowed one.

I was weighing everything. It was great for weighing outgoing mail, the cat, whatever. I even used it to calibrate my torque wrench. Now I just have to convince my wife that I just gotta have one.

(It was very saddening to find out that my bike, which was supposed to be close to 15lbs, was in fact 16.5 pounds with pedals. So much for Cannondale's "Legalize My Cannondale" ad campaign!)

PS - I'm not a weight weenie, really!

DeFeet wool knee and/or and arm warmers. mmmmm mmmm good. I like the wool knee warmers the best, throw in a nice pair of 3/4 length Smartwool cycling socks and thats quite a nice gift.

Can I get on your Christmas list?
