Hi, I just bought a Serotta Timax titanium MTB frame. I thought it was a 30.9 seatpost but it is too lose. Does anyone know for sure what size it uses? Thanks much!!

I believe it would need a 27.2

daveI would assume that too but he says a 30.9 is loose (if I understand correctly), so....maybe 31.6?

I thought mine was 27.2 but had a sleeve insert of some sort.

It’s way larger than a 27.2. I have a CHT which is a 27.2, a v-brake Timax at 27.2. But this disc brake Timax is not. I used a ruler to eyeball it, thought and ordered a 30.9 which turned out to be too small. Want to make sure before I order a new post.

On the Thomson site, there is 31.6 and 32.4? Thought I would check with you guys.

Thanks!

Ps. Or I might just have to go get a proper vernier calipers. ...

Just bring it to a bike shop and have them measure it for you. Easy peasy.

Yup, your LBS should have something like this:

Good Luck!
