Will post-2015 Record shifters and derailleurs play nice with an 11-32 Potenza cassette and a Wolf Road Link? (Asking for the friend in my mirror...)

Probably?

Probably?

That’s what I thought too, though I was leaning more toward “maybe.”

Depends some on bike geometry but try it. Make sure chain length is ‘proper’, ability to do big-big combo.

Just try it without the wolf link. I am running a 32T cassete on a post 2015 short cage. 50/34 crankset and it works flawlessly, all gears. I would try that first and if it has trouble getting into the biggest gear or the chain is too slack in small small (not that you should be using this gear but we all want perfection) then put the road link in.

My crank has 52-39 rings, so I doubt the short cage derailleur can do 39-32.

If the short cage derailleur works with a 32T cassette and 50-34 rings, it'll work with 52-39 rings also. The 50-34 is a 16 tooth differential, while the 52-39 is only a 13 toot differential, so less derailleur capacity is needed.

As Old Potatoe mentioned, the maximum sprocket size will be somewhat dependent on frame geometry (particularly, the length of the hanger), but on most frames the short cage will work with a 32 tooth sprocket.

The road links don't mesh well with Campy derailleurs because of Campys b tension being located on the pulley instead of the mounting bolt. Wolf Tooth actually states on their website that it isn't compatible with Campy. I actually tried it anyways because I had one and it basically makes the derailleur sit in awkward angle that the b tension on the pulley cannot remedy. I tried and it worked WAY better without it. I am running a chorus 11 short cage der with an 11-32 and a 12T diff on my front chainrings. It's smooth and will shift into big-big without carnage and small-small with minimal slap.

That's great to see. I'll give it a shot. Thanks everyone!
