I'll be in the area with my gravel bike, planning to ride on the 22nd out of Truckee (camping, so would prefer not to drive to a start point) There seems to be a lot of NF roads in the area, but not real sure which ones are "good"!

Any suggestions for a mixed loop in the 80 mile/8000 ascent range? A 7 to 8 hour ride is fine. RWGPS or Strava routes appreciated!

The Truckee Dirt Fondo happened this past weekend. The long route was a good one. https://www.strava.com/routes/16335564

Dirt Fondo is a good route, not too technical. Decent scenery.

Thanks guys, I'll see what I can piece together. Hoping for "road less traveled" / epic scenery. :)

If you haven't spotted this yet, I would stop by Paco's in Truckee to get current road and trail info etc.

If you live near sea level in SF Bay area I'd suggest you not plan a ride that's too strenuous until you have time to become acclimated to the altitude around Truckee. I would rather end my ride feeling great and wishing it was a bit longer than dragging my exhausted self to the finish line sucking wind. :)

I'm headed to do Mauna Kea in 1.5 months.. so that'll be sea level to 13,850 in one go.. so this will be a mere appetizer for low oxygen riding. :)
