im looking to fabricate or purchase a bracket for mounting a dynamo.

Im using a Nitto M18 rack and there are NO mounts of any kind. I see that Nitto makes a specific mount that essentially bolts onto their 7mm struts. not a terrible option at all. As does VO I will potentially be running a wald 137 basket zip stripped to the rack also so that could be a potential mounting option as well.

what have folks found to be their fav places to mount lights? the light in question is a Luxos IQ2 U the one with the switch mount containing hi low beam and usb port charging.

also have a phillips saferide that is up as well for this rig.

thanks.. this link is kinda where im going. LBS has a ton of shot rings i can mess around with. JC nitto is proud of that mount lol. It does seem like the ideal route for me though. sometimes you just gotta pay the premium.

You can make a very similar mount out of a Weinmann U brake. If you’re looking at buying I know Box Dog in SF used to carry these from time to time

I've done the chainring light mount on three different setups. Works great in my experience and looks cool. Try to get it as forward as you can to minimize shadows from the wheel.

gottya. the only mounting option on this rack is where the strut comes thorough on ea side. i think theres room to accomodate a chairing... i also have some extra parts from another m18 that I can try and cobble something up to the actual strut similar to the way the nitto lamp holder attaches.

thanks!
