Done both 10 and 11 installs a bunch. Just installed a brand new Shimano r8000 11-34 cassette on my 2016 Domane which originally came with 6800 11 parts. When I put the wheel in the bike in the stand and then did some rear shifting something was not right. Cassette was wobbly on the freehub. Took it apart, double checked all, and still wobbly. Installed 1mm spacer behind the cassette and now all seems right. Why the spacer?

The 11-34 fits the 10 speed freehub body size. I have that cassette on a couple bikes with older King classic hubs.

11 cassette on 11 free hub body needed the spacer. I was curious why?

The 11-34 comes with the spacer for an 11spd body, or without it, will fit the 10 spd cassette bodies.

it works even better than the one I guessed might be the right size. Shifting good now. The forum a fountain of knowledges.
