Headed down to ATL for work tomorrow and will be there through Friday night...planning way head here! :)

Wondering if anyone here's local, or has any recommendations on whether it's worth trying to squeeze a bike adventure in during my time there.

Appreciate all recommendations, advice, cautionary tales, etc. Ride locations, bike rentals, et cetera.

Also if you are local and want to ride with a MA Paceliner lmk!

The weather this weekend doesn't look great for riding, but let me know where you are staying and I can give you some recommendations. You are also welcome to my 57 cm bike if you want and it fits.

thanks fa - i'm a wee person (5'6 or so) and I ride usually around a 50/51...but I really appreciate the offer! Thank you.

so I am staying at the W Midtown...going to be tied up in conference sessions all day, but if there was something of particular interest I am always down for a very early morning wake up or late night to squeeze in a ride...

I think that piedmont park is near where you are staying. You can pick up the beltline trail system from around there, maybe south east corner, and connect out of city. Otherwise, you are looking at a hike to get out and ride, imho. You could always take the MARTA north and then get off and ride but it doesn’t sound like you have the time. In general the riding around GA is pretty good but with less than enough time traffic s gonna be prohibitive. Good luck!

Beltline is bit of a mess in the evenings; too many pedestrians.

I can put together a couple potential routes that would take you out of Midtown and into the fancy suburbs towards the north and west where traffic is pretty light. You could do these in the morning or the evening. Let me know if you are interested.

As far as rentals go, I am not sure who rents near Midtown. I will take a look tomorrow.

If you are into gravel rides, you can take a short trip out of Midtown and do the Dirty Sheets ride.

If you prefer pavement, the Silver Comet Trail isn't too far out of town.

Here is another good source for rides around the area from a bike shop near Midtown.
