Hey guys, wanted to see if any local members could lend a helping hand. I am interested in purchasing the below bike and it seems the seller is unwilling to ship:

Not on the east side, but see if the seller will take it over to "Around the Cycle", in NW Pasadena. They'll box it and ship it to you.

doesnt seem strange to me.

if i were selling a bike in Pasadena and selling it on craigslist, the last thing i probably want to do is deal with a guy in NY who wants the bike shipped. Considering the price is pretty good, he probably has some local interest, so he's probably just ignoring you.

it may not be the polite thing to do but once he found out you were across the country, and he may not want to deal with anything buy a direct cash deal, that's likely what's up.

Hey guys, wanted to just thank everyone here that offered help. I really had no idea the members of this forum would be so helpful.

Long story short, I’m going to pass on the bike. The seller has been non communicative and a bit shady and really wouldn’t fee comfortable asking anyone here to deal with them. Also would want a little more communication from the seller to feel comfortable dealing with him myself.

Also I’m starting to question if the bike is actually a real merckx or just a max tubed frame painted to look like one. The lugs look different than other bikes I’ve seen and the seat stat doesn’t have the usual merckx logo next to the lug.
