So stock steel fork on “x” bike is 55mm rake...
Want to use my Ritchey wcs plastic fork at 45mm rake will I drastically change handling beyond what was intended???

I presume this is for a Black Mountain Monster Cross - if so, axle-crown length is also different. Not sure I'd want to screw with the handling that much.

You are correct x=Bmc Mx
My old nature boy was a perfect match for the fork but I like the clearance of the bmc better. Prob just run the stock fork if I pull the trigger then.. unless there’s another carbon fork option I’m unaware of that’s the same a-c and closer to 55mm offset

You might look at Whiskey forks. There are several models of CX/gravel forks in a similar length as the Monster Cross fork (395mm tall for Whiskey vs. 400mm tall for Monster Cross), and come in a variety of models with different brake mounts (cantilever studs, post mount disc, or flat mount disc), axle interfaces (QR, 12mm thru-axle or 12mm thru-axle), and have offsets of either 45mm or 47mm.

by reducing the head angle and decreasing the rake, you will get significantly more flop. I find flop to be annoying. YMMV
I don't think I would use a fork that increases head angle.
