Just wondering if anyone could answer this.

I currently have a praxxis zyante crankset which is supposed to directly compatible with the sram 110 bcd 5 bolt spider (https://www.jensonusa.com/SRAM-Force-Crank-Spider-11-Speed). I was looking at picking up a sram 1x chainring and was wondering what bolts I need for mounting since I believe that the sram spider technically has a hidden bolt. However I wasn't sure if the hidden bolt was only for 2x because of the shift pin, which 1x doesn't have.

Not sure if these bolts from wolftooth (https://bit.ly/2ZI9h3G) would work or if i need something else.

Thanks

Those 1x chainring bolts should work.

Have you considered a direct mount chainring? Praxis makes one that would be compatible. Other producers also offer similar direct mount chainrings.

They don't go above 40/42T. I'm looking at running a 46 or a 48 so I need to step up to 110 or 130BCD.

Is you're using the SRAM spider you'll need SRAM bolts. These should work with the xsync spider.

However you should also be able to use the existing 5 bolt 110bcd spider with a set of chainring spacers. That way you only pay for the spacers instead of spider and bolts. The spacers take up the slack for where the inner chainring used to be.

Don't know if Praxis utilizes a hidden bolt like SRAM so you might need an extra spacer set just for that last bolt. But since SRAM 1x and 2x have the same chainline at the crank (teeth are offset) thdy should work with any 110bcd crank/spider.

Does your crank already have a spider or was it purchased as 1x?

If it has a spider, why not just use that. If it doesn't have a spider, I think praxis sells their spider as a replacement part option. This would eliminate the question of whether the sram one is truly compatible or not.

I ended up just ordering the sram 1x ring. It says it comes packaged with the bolts, so I assume they are the correct ones.

I thought about getting the praxxis spider but it's almost double the cost of the sram one when you factor in shipping.

You're running 1x with a 46t or 48t chainring? You must be MUCH stronger than I am!
