Maybe one for the MTBs out there.

I use NFS, great lube and may be fine for this but was wondering what people are using for crappy conditions to avoid chain suckage and keep the drivetrain happy on a longish ride.

My go-to has been Phil Tenacious Oil.

...but somehow, I've lost my bottle of the stuff!

I did read something about Tenacious oil... same as chain saw oil apparently.

So do you only apply this stuff if you know you are going to do a ride in really bad weather? Also do you wipe the chain from the other lube and use this oil? then wipe the oil and put other lube back when say, summer is here.

Homebrew, 3-1 white gas to Mobil 1 or any quality oil available.

Dumonde Original Chain lube (https://www.dumondetech.com/portfolio/bicycle-chain-lube-bcl-original-formula/). It's amazing. I use the light on most drivetrains, the original when things get dirty.

I had a new sram chain on for yesterdays wet gravel ride, wish I knew what they put on new chains cause it protects like nobodies business.

my chain was doing some weird noises by the end of the ride and feeling kinda sticky.

I love Rock n Roll Extreme for winter riding, but because it’s so thin I’ve been afraid to use it for long rainy dirt or mud rides. I guess every other wet lube is so thick I am just skeptical.

Maybe next rainy gravel ride I’ll try it, can’t be worse than how Pedro’s Syn Lube did at Rasputitsa for me yesterday.

Dumonde Tech is great stuff. Use the lite version on all my road bikes in SoCal. I have only used 1/2 the bottle in the last year (7500 miles).

I moved to Molten Speed wax for my gravel and MTB.
It works well in dry and also in wet/muddy.

I did an mtb ride today- I was one ridge over from the Pacific Ocean- It was foggy and wet on the ridge that I rode up- bike was filthy when I got home, but never made a peep while riding.
Cleaned it up in minutes- Ready to go again.
I am sold on waxing for offroad and mixed terrain use.

Only part that is remotely a hassle is prepping a new chain for its 1st waxing- Have to use chemicals to strip the factory goo off.
After that it is cake.

Buddy of mine talked me into trying out Boeshield T-9 (https://www.rei.com/product/759028/boeshield-t-9-bicycle-lubricant-4-oz).

So far I've only used it on my winter beater winter bike which sees a fair bit of rain and road salt around town. I also used it for my spoke nipples to prevent rust / corrosion.
