Hi all,

Just purchased a set of ENVE 3.4’s with Industry 9 hubs ( centerlock ) on eBay . They did not come with centerlock lockrings. I am using SRAM centerlock rotors that also did not come with centerlock lockrings.

They are 12 x 100 and 12 x 142.

Please help direct me to purchase the correct lock-rings.

As always, thank you all in advance!

Steve

weird. Shimano rotors come with the lockrings. Anyway, here's a pair on Ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Shimano-SM-RT30-Centre-Lock-Lock-Ring-for-Disc-Brake-Rotor-Bicycle-Bike-Gift/173662249228?_trkparms=aid%3D555018%26algo%3DPL.SI M%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D57476%26meid%3D08c97f32f4e84335 91099ba60e5121bc%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D1 2%26sd%3D183551007449%26itm%3D173662249228&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851

Awesome! Thank you!

Since going disc, it’s been an entirely new learning curve.

The other disc bike I have uses Reynolds 46’s and they came with lock rings.

the reynolds ones should look like the ones i suggested. they will work fine on any hub

They actually look like this: https://fairwheelbikes.com/dt-swiss-centerlock-adapter/

But Reynolds branded. So, this confused me because the hubset is centerlock , doesn’t need an adaptor....

the lockring is the same between the dt shimano and reynolds. reynolds and dt sell them with adaptors to make a centerlock hub work with a 6 bolt rotor.

Got it, thank you! Is that why they are almost double the price of the Shimano version?

This is what you want, two of them:

https://www.mikesbikes.com/product/shimano-centerlock-thru-axle-lockring-19809.htm

https://www.mikesbikes.com/merchant/344/images/large/BR8745.jpg

These lockrings have the outer serration, which fit over a thru axle hub, and work with a Shimano Hollowtech BB tool. They are branded Shimano but work universally.

In my experience the inner serration quick release-specific lockrings (like these (https://www.ebay.com/itm/Shimano-SM-RT30-Centre-Lock-Lock-Ring-for-Disc-Brake-Rotor-Bicycle-Bike-Gift/173662249228?_trkparms=aid%3D555018%26algo%3DPL.SI M%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D57476%26meid%3D08c97f32f4e84335 91099ba60e5121bc%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D1 2%26sd%3D183551007449%26itm%3D173662249228&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851)) work on certain thru axle hubs, with certain tools like the Abbey Crombie, but you're taking a chance. The outer serration lockring will always work on any hub, TA or QR. They should be the only lockrings that exist.

It's really frustating that very few companies make, or supply their rotors/wheels with a proper lockring. The rotor company leaves it to the wheel co. and vice versa. Shimano rotors come with a lockring but a QR specific one. SRAM rotors come with no lockring. Surprised this isn't talked about more.

Wow! Thank you for such a great explanation!

I let a bike store build my other disc bike and actually didn’t pay much attention to all the parts I brought him. I should have. I’d probably have a much better understanding of how it all comes together.

Thanks again!

I'm in the middle of a built w/eTap and centerlock's also. No lock ring provided by either wheel manu or SRAM.

Bought these: https://www.merlincycles.com/upgrade-centrelock-15-20mm-lock-ring-for-kinesis-crosslight-wheels-102368.html

Don't do the splined version (i.e. cassette tool); get the ring that uses a bb tool.
