Thought others here might find this interesting. Was surprised to only see mention on DirtRag's Sea Otter coverage. After spying it there, wandered over to Vanilla's own Instagram feed where there are some more pics.

Will be interesting to see if offered as a product and the choices on angles, clearances, etc. Seems like this one is fairly purpose-built for the one rider.

These media shots must happen at 8am since that walk way is packed by 10am.

I'm a big fan of sacha but good luck with hardtail mtb. I would think everyone would want custom for both their body and to their intended terrain. And if its complete builds only, the customers buying will likely already have SV and now want a matching frame for dirt. say hello to $10k hardtail

I get that for a lot of you a hardtail is awesome, but for me, I haven't thought about a hardtail since the early 90s. and, if I did today it would be carbon so I could be on a 17# dirt rocket.

I definitely wouldnt pay 10k but that Speedvagen mtb is specd pretty close to my Rick Hunter and I would definitely qualify my steel hardtail hunter as a no remorse buy.

Looks like a great gravel bike

Looks badass. The SV aesthetic totally suits an XC-ish hardtail like this.

I doubt this will go into production, though. This was built as a one-off for a member of their CX team that also races MTB.

I haven't seen Nanos on an actual MTB in forever.

Color reminds of late 60s mustang color....Brittany Blue. Was considering it for a bike of my own. I like

Also a 60s Fender color, Ice Blue Metallic. Makes sense since all of the metallic Fender colors are car colors.

I'm inclined to feel Speedvagen jumped the shark by introducing the MTB. However if it sells bikes for Speedvagen, then I wish them success.

Great looking bike that caught my attention. Visually it reminds me of my Indy Fab. Deluxe (one of the first) I had in 96? Same damn paint job looked just as good then. I see nothing wrong with a Co. like Speedvagen selling a hardtail, and sell them they will. They are not in business to please the crowd.

Beautiful bike.

As a fan of speedvagen I like it. I'd suggest that if it goes into production it only be ready made. Mtb geometry and riding don't necessitate custom as much as road. Plus if they do it as ready made price would likely be in the 5-6k range, which is not too crazy for a top level bike these days.

I think it's awesome. Love the look, love the color. I'd ride the hell out of it.

Nice bike but I bet I'll never see one on the trails, maybe leaning against the wall of a coffee shop.....kinda like those gravel bikes that are the rage these days.

Yeah, but you don't get the dropouts Speedvagen is known for, so how will anyone know that you're riding something other than any other steel hardtail out there?

Can you imagine the looks you'd have gotten if you showed up to ride with that baby chain ring. :D

Or a 2.1 in general!

Um ... I have some Nano 2.1s for sale :)
My MTB used to be a hardtail, but I made it rigid. I like 2.1s. The Racing Ralph/Ray combo is perfect for the fire roads I like.

As for The Speedvagen MTB, nah. I don't have a hipster mustache or a Civil War beard.

i like SV stuff. I almost ordered one of their cross frames. Not sure why but I would never consider a MTB from them. There are just so many good MTB builders out their that have geo dialed and are committed to mountain bikes. This bike just doesn't do it for me. Still contemplating one of their cross frames tho
