Chicago weather is definitely not experiencing global warming in April...in August I may have a different response.

Sorry to be pedantic about this, but it's important:

Weather is not climate, climate is not weather.

Agreed...climate is what you expect and weather is what you get.

Cheers.

If it makes you feel better, we got the same thing in Denver this week (2x), but we kind of expect it.

Bring on the spring skiing!

Tried spring snowboarding at A Basin (2nd attempt...went with a go big or go home mindset and something to try) ...came home with a broken wrist.

Switch over and tried skiing in the midwest...(not today)...and would love to try skiing in Colorado.

Have fun!

Two glorious sunny days on the slopes in Maine this weekend. Sprinkling now ....

Snowpack is good for at least a week into May. Then there’s skinning and then there’s bike. Send snow - not ready for season to end. Travel schedule didn’t hit a major dump this year - good snow everywhere but didn’t get to ski 24” of fresh. 18 was the max.

View out behind the house this afternoon. We've had several inches but the ground is warm so it's melting fast.

Same here in west Michigan. Terrible spring so far. Two inches on the ground so far. Then 60 or so by Thursday.

It's always good to see Matt Foley though. Damn, I miss Farley.

I lived in Rapid City, SD for a number of years and nearly every year the biggest snowfall came in April, usually around the 20-24th. The first year that I was there we got 42 inches in one day.....what a mess.

Those big April snows were so prevalent that one year a car dealer advertised something along the lines of: "Buy a car from us in Jan, Feb or Mar and if it snows more than 30 inches on April 22nd we will refund your money." The snow came a couple of days later so they didn't go bankrupt.

Well. I haven't been around here in a while but in my absence I left the midwest. The wife needed to be closer to family and work had an opportunity. Here is what I am looking at today.

No skiing in Denver, let it stay in the mountains where it belongs:)

I’m stuck in the Tuscon Airport. My flight to Chicago has been delayed for 7 hours, and of course I’m missing my connection, so I won’t get home until sometime tomorrow if I’m lucky. My bike and bags already are on the plane, and I’m not enthralled about taking another flight tomorrow.

United Airlines is totally worthless.

36 degrees, gray, 15-25 mph NE wind, but no snow here... so far.

So a rollers day... close my eyes (well, not for long) and imagine I'm PhilGil.

I live in Virginia but I keep checking the daily snow report from Alta. Season total say 599" so far this year, including last night's snow. And I keep thinking that 5 days in March wasn't enough . . .

April snow in Chicago isnt unusual. Less common is snow in May. It wont last long with temps in the upper 60s this week.
