New bike will have a 12mm thru axle front fork. I haul my bikes inside of a van with a standard quick release bolted to a board. Any recommendations for an adapter to mount the new 12mm thru axle fork to a standard quick release?

Either bolt up a specific thru axle mount or use an adapter.

This works great and is nice and affordable:

I bought one of these for my Van Dessel and it works perfect.

The seller has other length too if that's not what you need.

They all kinda suck. I looked for a TA to QR. It'd be nice if someone made fork ear muffs to drop the 12mm hole down to 9mm or 5mm.
The problem seems to be that there are too many TA standard to support and they aren't clear enough for customers to navigate.

Till then you can try putting 12mm OD x 11mm wide x 5 or 9mm ID spacer on one side and a 10mm OD x 11 mm wide x 5 or 9mm ID spacer on the threaded side. Like this https://www.trisports.com/product/elite-thru-axle-adaptor?adl=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI5cmlnffK4QIVR77ACh0C3gJhEAQYAiAB EgIrEPD_BwE

These don't exist.
You can cut up a TA if you can find a solid one or one with good hole size. This would be a hassle to remove from the threaded side.
You can buy the expensive roofrack - https://www.yakima.com/highspeed
You can buy the forkup adapter.

I personally have had a heck of a time with roof racks and 12mm TA. First I had a Thule Circuit which I used a Thule adopter with and the bike still rocked back and forth. Thule said to run it. The bike was secure and I wasn’t worried about it falling off the roof, but I could hear it in the car. At some point it would have worn down the inside of the drop outs.

I have since gotten the Thule Thru Ride. It works well, however it clamps using two metal pieces that compress together around the TA. This just mars up the center area of the TA. It is just superficial wear for now, but over time that just doesn’t seem like a good option. May look into a cheap axle to use on the rack.

Almost ready to go hitch and get a Thule T2 Pro or an Kuat NV 2.0.

I’ve heard good things about the Kuat Trio. Anybody have experience with it?

Phoenix, I have the Rocky Mounts Switch Hitter. I've only used it once on a 5 hour trip but it worked fine. Didn't notice much sway and there was no damage to the dropouts or to the thru axle. My experience is limited because I drive an SUV and also have a hitch rack which is obviously easier to load the bikes onto.
