Congrats

I'm curious how intact the 33 year old bike remained? What did you replace over the years?

agreed! I wonder if it'd be a "ship of Theseus" or grandfather's axe story! Nice new bike BTW, enjoy it!!

I would count the frame as the “bike.”

The brakes and derailleurs are original Shimano 600. The stem and bars are original. About 12 years ago I sent it back to Serotta for a repaint and replaced the downtube shifters with brifters. She still rides like a dream, but I wanted to try titanium.

Congrats OP, I like the way Lynskey does the seat stay on that frame.

Enjoy the new ride. You certainly got your money’s worth out of the predecessor

Interested in feedback on lynskey after you log some miles. Looking at one of their gravel bikes

I like the finish you went for on the Lynskey - very industrial chic and everything ties together nicely (though the saddle angle looks a little off) ---

Sweet ride! 33 years. Awesome.

That said, that saddle angle immediately made my wrists hurt. Recommend tilting that nose up and dropping the height as needed to compensate.

Enjoy!

too bad serotta isn't still around. you could've made a nice video of how it served you well all these years etc and they might have given you a brand new steed in exchange for the marketing opportunity. There is a video from a guy that did this when his Trek broke after many years. They made him a brand new custom bike and filmed a story about it.
