what can I save from my 9 speed stuff to convert to SRAM 10 speed and are the SRAM brakes that much better then the 9 speed DurAce brakes ? Thanks

So the 9 speed crank is the only carry over unless I chose to swap out the brakes ?

yeah, the wheels should take a 10 spd cassette ( shimano ).
front der best changed as the cage is narrower on the 10. 9spd one might work passably... never tried that.
