Hi all,

I'm talking to a seller over the internets about his Colnago Tecnos. He says the seat tube is 57 c-c and the top tube is 54.5 c-c. Those numbers surprised me. Should they? I figured the top tube would be closer to the seat tube, as on my Master X-Light.

Thanks!

See if this helps--Tecnos would qualify as "old geometry". They should measure about square measured center to center...

Since Colnago themselves measure center of BB to bottom of seatpost clamp, their nominal sizes are slightly different--eg a Colnago 59 is about 57 cm c-t-c seat tube; 56.5 c-t-c top tube--and this causes no end of confusion.

I usually get people to measure the head tube end to end, to confirm what they have.

Like mentioned the seat tube is probably center to top
Also traditionally they have pretty steep seat tube angles so if you keep your saddle in the same spot the reach to the bars is longer than you might have on other bikes.
