We're not even a full week into March and they already have 14 wins this season. They've won three races in four days, each win by a different rider. Amazing!

seeing Stybar finally take the top step in the spring is really gratifying. The battles between him and Nys were some of the best racing I ever watched in any discipline. He was always a classy dude.

Sounds like they are picking up where they left off last year. IIRC, that won a bunch of races last year too.

oddly, Astana has 15 wins already per ProCyclingStats...

3 for 3 in the spring classics though is pretty nice for QuickStep.
Is it weird that I still often think of them as OmegaPharma-QuickStep?

Great team, great riders, great leadership, great organization.

But not unbeatable.

No teams or riders are unbeatable.

Need the over-powering dominance of a strong man to break up the pack.

A lion.

A few past examples :

Fabian Cancellera
Phillipe Gilbert

I love to hate them. :)

I liked it better when they were bungling race tactics and losing to Ian Stannard when they had 3 guys in a 4 man group, or when Paolini won out of a group of 4 (2 Quickstep) at Gent-Wevelgem, or when the Carrefour took out 2 quickstep riders and unfurled the red carpet for cancellara at the velodrome.

Ok, not really that last one, since idiot fans were the result of those crashes, and I do like Stybar.

But I also enjoy them messing up like they did a few years ago. I guess this is how the rest of the country feels about the patriots :help::rolleyes::p

I think that those mess-ups, Matt, were part of a transition from a team that was built with heavy firepower supporting star riders, to one that's a lot flatter. There's no Boonen, now, and with Gilbert aging and Terpstra gone, it's a lot easier for them to implement their flat strategy. And with a few extra years to hone their abilities, strategies, and culture (they do all seem to like each other and enjoy winning together), I think they've really honed it.
