a circa 1998 F1 fork with 1" threaded 853 steerer weigh? (approximate is fine!)

i can't find figures anywhere, but i had it off the bike for the first time in a few years recently and couldn't believe how heavy it felt to me.

is it in fact such a big tank, or am i just too used to fawning over ouzo pros and other such delicacies at the LBS?

not that i can complain, as it's the best feeling and handling fork i've ever ridden... just curious.

i think it was around 500 grams, maybe just under. Go threadless. russ'd be proud of the weight you'd drop.

i'd have guessed it would weight a bit more, but as i said, my views are just skewed from playing with the new candy in the shop. seems like a lot of work and cash out to shave 125g or so.

The Serotta F1 fork is a tank. At 649g ('98 model uncut) it weighs almost as much as a steel fork. Today, you can easily take 1/2 lb of the fork......
