I was JUST about to post up a FS feeler for a pair of Pearl Izumi X-Project Elite (in black/lime punch) in size 49. (I wear a 48 in Lake but apparently a 49 in P.I.). New, but cleats (and sole protectors) mounted. Just set up the trainer for the winter this morning so I have yet to actually pedal in them.

I'll message you...

I'll message you...Appreciate it, but I gotta have true "wide" shoes to see if it makes a difference..

I have plenty of 49/50 options already... unfortunately.

Does this mean shoes my size are going to start showing up in classified forum near me. ;)
I don't have particularly wide feet and found my Lake tri shoes noticeably wider and a little longer than other shoes I've tried (bontrager/giro/shimano/specialized). I have a pair of Lake in 48 that fit ok, but settled on sidi 49 in road shoes... they just fit my feet the best for now anyway. Problem with sasquatch feet is its hard to find places to try anything on.

So true. And no one wants to order them and have them sit in inventory..

I scored a really nice pair of Lake MTB shoes in 48-W off eBay, new, for a good price. Hoping those work.

Or maybe I'm sitting on a nerve or something

This has been an issue for me for at least a couple years across many different bikes, saddles, pedals, etc. - the only thing I haven't tried is certifiably "wide" shoes. And according to my measurements and Lake's specs, I should definitely be in the wide ones.

I wear a 47/48 EE cause I have big ol canoe sized feet. Specialized wide shoes have worked wonders for me. They usually only make them in their basic and mid range shoes but I’ve worn them for years and they’ve been good to me.

Update - the size 48 Wide Lake MX 332 X MTB shoes I got off eBay are too short (despite measuring and following Lake's instructions for picking a size :crap:) --- so I'm still looking and will post those Lake's (https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mens-Lake-MX332-X-Race-Cross-Country-Shoes-Black-Yellow-Size-EUR-48-US-13-5-Wide/362452496992?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649) for sale shortly...
