Anyone know which Columbus this is? I've read since it is a 58cm it is most likely SL with SP downtube. Can't find much info on Bianchis Formula 1 tubing

I've always heard it was some mixture of SL and SP. I have a bike made out of formula 2 and it felt similar to other SL bikes I've had like my colnago, but different from the full SLX bikes I've had that felt more supple and less stiff.

Yeah.. I'm guessing we've seen the same thing... I've seen the threads with people asking about the Formula Two.. not a whole lot on Formula One though

Would not surprise me that those formula bikes arent sl neither sp... big chance are just straight gauge columbus tubing. put a nice decal and good to go.

I don't know about that, I've weighed the formula 2 frame and it's lighter than a Columbus tenax frame and pretty close to an SL frame in weight. It's a mixture of something, but it's hard to say what. The lug work isn't very nice but my bianchi really felt a lot like my SL colnago. I still have that frame sitting around somewhere back home at my parents house for a rainy day. I've passed on a lot of bikes but the formula 2 bianchi is worthy IMHO.

I've emailed Columbus Tubi hoping to get an answer about both Formula One and Two.

From what I've read, the Formula One was only on the 86 & 87 Bianchis.. mine is 86 based off serial number
