(Mods, feel free to place this in the Classifieds as a WTB, wasn't sure…)

For Eroica I want to go back to the old days and put my extra tube and other stuff in an old sock, secured to my seat with a toe clip strap. Alas, I can't seem to find my old strap and would prefer not to buy a new pair.

Anyone got an extra lying around? I don't care about condition or color, as long as it is functional (though blue would be nice). Happy to pay a bit or make a forum donation, of course would cover shipping.

Thanks

Ha. I'm actually planning to use the sleeve from my Thomson seatpost

I use a cloth grits bag.

For jobs like that or adjusting brakes modern nylon straps work great.

For holding my feet to the pedals they're awful.

More accurately, they work fine for holding my feet, but don't stay out of the way when I'm trying to clip in. If the strap's loose enough for my shoe it's loose enough to fall down into the way.

This is an interesting coincidence, just this morning I found the toe strap I used to use to hold my spare tube on the bike.

I hope it's an Alfredo Binda, nothing else is acceptable.

FWIW, we never used socks, a seatpost bag would be ideal.

Bindas were a little nicer, but the French brand was easier to get. Whatever that was. So I'm sure that's what I have. All the markings wore off.

Damn, now you've made me realize that for Eroica I really should get out some steel wool to polish up my toe clips and the clamps at the end of the straps. I just checked and, while any trace of brand on the leather is long gone, I can see the Binda logo on the clamps. Clips themselves are Cristophe.
